OUR STORY

Founded by friends Maddison and Mia, MMOVE was born from a shared vision — to create a space where community, mindful movement, and holistic wellness come together.
​
With backgrounds in marketing and property, we followed our passion for the mind–body connection to build something meaningful: a place where movement goes beyond exercise and becomes a way to nurture balance, strength, and wellbeing.

At MMOVE, we believe movement is more than physical — it’s also mental, social, and spiritual. Our community is designed to inspire connection and support through every step of your wellness journey.

WHERE OUR JOURNEY BEGAN
​
Our journey began as a post Pilates class idea after discussing how we had both began a mat and reformer Pilates course to become qualified instructors. After far too many coffees, we decided to make the jump and began to book viewings for sites across Manchester in locations such as Wilmslow, Altrincham and on Deansgate. The minute we saw the unit or Norton Street - we knew it was the one.

OUR NAME
​
After weeks of brainstorming different ideas and avenues, consulting with friends and family for their opinions, we kept coming back to the same word... move. Although we thought it was almost perfect, there was something missing - what felt like a lack of connection to us personally. The idea to add the additional 'M' was a nod to our shared initial, creating the final name MMOVE (still pronounced as move).

THE STUDIO DESIGN
​
The studio has been directly designed by us. A combination of Pinterest boards sparked our final design, with the help of our amazing builders. Our space has been designed to create a welcoming, yet clean, unique experience for everyone who walks through our doors - creating something Manchester has been missing.

THE LAUNCH
​
After 6 months, the studio was finished and the brand was made. Our initial announcement sparked a great reaction amongst the local community, and hearing everyone's excitement has been a major source of motivation throughout the most challenging, yet exciting venture of our lives to date.
​
We started our first month of trade with numerous brand and community focused events and the response couldn't have been better.
